Possible Supreme Court Nomination for Eric Holder

Rush Limbaugh believes that Attorney General Eric Holder may be headed for a nomination to the Supreme Court after he turned in his resignation.

iRumorMill.com Determination: Unproven Conspiracy Theory

According to his September 25, 2014, radio transcript, Limbaugh told his audience, "There may be a Supreme Court vacancy, and I can see Barack Obama nominating Eric Holder to fill it, and it would be much easier for Eric Holder to make the jump from private sector law firm rainmaker after six years at DOJ to the Supreme Court, than from DOJ straight to the Supreme Court."

Days earlier the internet was burning with rumors that President Obama was going to nominate Senate House Leader Harry Reid to the Supreme Court.

The reason for this speculation was sparked by a  September 24, 2014, article in Newsweek magazine about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, which said, "that even though Democrats control the White House and the Senate, Republicans can still block a nominee to the Supreme Court that they feel is too liberal." Newsweek reported this was in response to calls "for her to step down, when Senate Democrats reformed the filibuster rules last year so that they could confirm judicial appointments with a simple majority vote, they made an exception for Supreme Court nominees, who would still need a 60-vote majority to break a filibuster."

There is no proof at this time that President Obama is going to be nominating anyone to replace Justice Ginsberg. This is the sort of conspiracy theory that one must wait and see.
