Transfer of Funds Offer from a Stranger

 

Unsolicited emails from missionaries, servicemen, foreign bank employees other strangers asking if they can transfer funds into your bank accounts.
One of the latest examples trending on the Internet:
My name is Sgt.Joseph XXXX  I am serving in the US military in Afghanistan with the army infantry division, I have an amount of funds that I want to move out of the country from Cambodia, with arrangement to have the fund delivered to your account. Please e-mail me at sgt.XXX@XXX.XXX for more details. Thanks and best Regards.


iRumorMill.com Determination: Scam

This is a scam called "Phishing," where the scammer tricks his victims into releasing personal information and financial information.

The best advice for such an encounter is to block the sender, delete the email and never give anyone your bank account number by email.
