A federal grand jury in Texas indicted Drew Christopher Potter, on "four counts of conspiracy to smuggle and transport 39 undocumented men and women, including four minors from Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico." This according to a Oct. 7, 2015 news report by San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT, which said, when Deputy Aaron Ramirez and Sgt. Jerry Reyna responded on Sept. 18 to a call by a motorist who saw "a driver allegedly telling the people to get out, only to tell them to get back in the trailer."
When the door at the back of the truck was opened Deputy Ramirez told reporter he "could only see arms sticking out of it.”
The KSAT article said the drive of the truck could face "up to 10 years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine" if convicted.
