State Department Solution to End War on Terror - Offer ISIS Members Jobs

Top State Department spokeswoman, Marie Harf, said killing ISIS members is not going to the stop the war on terrorism and suggested offering them jobs as a solution.

The comments were made by Marie Harf, deputy spokesperson for the US Department of State and reported by several news agencies including, Fox News and CBS.

Harf appeared on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews and said, "We're killing a lot of them, and we're going to keep killing more of them. ... But we cannot win this war by killing them." She continued, "We need ... to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it's lack of opportunity for jobs."

Congressman Peter King (R-Long Island) told CBS, “This is absolute insanity. We are at war with ISIS. You don’t win a war by a jobs program or by giving out more welfare.” King added, “This shows to me the basic misunderstanding, and really, ignorance, of the Obama administration.”
