NSA shootingThe incident took place on March 30, 2015 at the NSA facility in Fort Meade, MD, according to a March 31, 2015 article by Fox News.

The article said the reason as to why the two men arrived at the gate at Fort Meade and tried to ram it is unknown. Authorities were also unable to say why the two suspects failed to obey orders from NSA police at the scene.

Fox News reported that the two men were dressed as women and it was "unclear exactly what the men were wearing."

The agency sent out a press release saying that an NSA officer gave the driver of the stolen vehicle "routine instructions for safely exiting the secure campus," which were ignored.  The release said the driver accelerated his vehicle towards a police car blocking the road, which sparked a police response to open fire.

Fox News also reported that the FBI does not believe that the incident was linked to terrorism.

Later that day, Fox News reported that the two men may have been under the influence of drugs.
