A South Carolina man opened fire on a crowd outside a nightclub on Sunday June 26, 2016.  Three victims were wounded. The gunman missed a fourth victim, who managed to draw his own weapon on the attacker. The gunman was stopped when the victim shot him in the leg.

The incident was real. "Ray Thompson pulled out an illegally carried firearm during an argument with another man and fired several rounds toward a crowd outside Playoffz nightclub in Lyman." This according to a June 30, 2016 article by the Washington Times.

Police told reporters that the man who shot Thompson had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon and law enforcement will not be charging him with any wrong doing. His identity was withheld from the press.

The Times reported that there were no life-threatening injuries to any of the victims. Thompson is looking at "four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and unlawful carrying of a weapon."
