Notice of Consumer Complaint from the Federal Trade Commission


An official looking notice of a consumer complaint from the Federal Trade Commission has gone viral and is turning up in email inboxes. The email has a link for the recipient to click to download a document. Determination: Hoax

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) did not send out this notice.  The FTC did put up a warning on its website about such emails back in 2013.

It may look official but do not click the link to download the document.

Clicking the link will redirect the computer user to another website where a virus, spyware or a scam could be awaiting.
