According to an Oct. 21, 2017 article by the New York Times, President Carter said in an interview with Maureen Dowd, “I think the media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I’ve known about.” Carter added, “I think they feel free to claim that Trump is mentally deranged and everything else without hesitation.”
The 93 year old former President told Dowd that he would be interested to "enter into a productive partnership with Donald Trump over North Korea."
