Natalia Veselnitskaya told The Washington Post that no one assigned her to talk with Donald Trump Jr., according to July 11, 2017 article by the Washington Post. The article said Veselnitskaya "has been identified by some American news organizations as 'Kremlin-connected,'” and is not employed by the Russian government.
The Post article said Donald Trump Jr. released an email chain on July 11, 2017 showing that he was contacted by British music publicist Rob Goldstone concerning "information that would incriminate" his opponent in the U.S. Presidential race, Hillary Clinton. It was Goldstone's messages that called Veselnitskaya a "Russian government attorney."
