53 Guests Murdered on R.M.S. Queen Mary on Halloween

Reports of a "hatchet massacre" on board the R.M.S. Queen Mary alleging that 53 victims were found dead after an axe-wielding man slaughtered them in their sleep on Halloween night.

iRumorMill.com Determination: Hoax

The source of the report turned out to be a hoax website called "Breaking 13 News." The iRumorMill.com is located in Long Beach, CA where the Queen Mary is docked as a floating hotel, event center and historical museum. If there was an incident on board the ship, we would have been the first to hear about it.

We checked the news services and found no news reports in the local Long Beach newspapers about this incident. Nor were there any reports by any of the Los Angeles news agencies reporting on television and radio.

A member of the iRumorMill.com crew was on board the Queen Mary on October 31st and November 1st and was happy to confirm that operations on board the ship were no different from any other day.

Upon close examination of the photograph that appeared on the hoax news website, there are no rooms on board the Queen Mary Hotel that remotely resemble anything like the room shown.
